A look back at the inauguration of Carrefour de Femmes
On Wednesday 16 October, a landmark event took place in Place Saint-Médard: the inauguration of Carrefour de Femmes. Under a radiant sun, this warm and innovative venue opened its doors to the women of the region.
Carrefour de Femmes is a unique, welcoming and caring space for everyone: young teenagers, young women, mothers and women looking for a place to talk and support. Here, it's easy to push open the door, create a bond and build trust. This space has been designed by women for women, with the support of local professionals and partner associations, to provide support on a number of key issues:
- Personal development
- Health and sexuality
- Economic independence
- Combating violence against women
A landmark event attended by a host of officials
The inauguration took place in the presence of a number of committed personalities:
- Jean-Claude Villemain, Mayor of Creil and Chairman of the Communauté d'Agglomération Creil Sud Oise,
- Sophie Lehner, Vice-President of the Conurbation,
- Sophie Levesque, Vice-President of the Oise département with responsibility for children, early childhood and the family,
- Arnaud Quiniou, sub-prefect in charge of urban policy in the Oise department,
- Isabelle Lonvis-Rome, Ambassador for Human Rights.
A wide range of events to celebrate the opening
To mark the occasion, a host of events and activities took place throughout the day:
- Participatory fresco
- Broadcast of an episode of the series "Les Inspirantes" by the ANA
- Muscle wake-up session
- Introduction to self-defence
- Quizzes and blind tests with prizes to be won
- Mock trial
- Guinguette and concert by the Jeune Chœur de l'Oise
- Creative workshops: ephemeral tattoos, badge making, games...
